JC Penney and the Angel Tree Program

I’ve recently felt the desire to adopt an angel from the Salvation Army. I thought it was great that JC Penney has teamed up with the Salvation Army to help children in need. Once I started researching it, I realized JCP is getting something out of the deal.

You see, you can’t just go buy presents for your child and drop them off at your local JCP.  You can, however, buy all of your gifts at JCP.com and then have them shipped to the Salvation Army for free. Or, if you’d like, you can buy a JCP gift card and let the Salvation Army buy gifts for your child.   I don’t like the fact the JCP is “helping” the Salvation Army, buy making it convenient to shop at their store. Why can’t they do something out of the goodness of their heart, instead of seeing it as a business opportunity? Not to mention, there are certain things that I’d like to buy my child, that you can’t get at JCP. This makes me want to stop shopping at JCP all together.

I’ve recently been told that I’m opinionated  =)  I took this as a compliment.  You see, if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.  Our monetary system is a form of voting. You get to choose where you spend your money.  When you buy something at a store, you are essentially saying you agree with the way that company does things and the morals they stand for.

My name is Jennifer Clark and My daughter Jazmine 14yrs just came to live with me in Grants Pass Oregon. I am on disability so I am on a very low fixed income and I am trying really hard to make ends meet. I haven’t been able to find much help I mean I do get food stamps and I am thankful to Godfor that but as far as getting assistance to get help getting Jazmine a new pair of shoes for school a coat for this winter and school supplies and backpack I haven’t had any luck all of the online sources I have tried don’t help with things like that nor do they help with actual Christmas help of any kind either. I really don’t know where to turn and I honestly can’t get anyone to even help point me in the right direction everyone just tells me sorry we can’t help you and I accept that they don’t know me or anything about my situation and I pray for them hopefully they will never have to need help. But right now I do and I would like to be one of the families your organization sponsors . I would like to know how I can be sponsored and what is it that I need to do and where do I start ??I thank you for your time and any helps in this matter God Bless You and Yours
    Sincerely Jennifer Clark
